Rule Value Details
EA Usage Allowed (with conditions) EAs are permitted if they are legitimate, use proper risk management, reflect real market conditions, and are replicable on live accounts. Be aware of potential capital allocation issues with third-party EAs. Platform limits are 200 orders at a time and 2000 positions per day. Avoid forbidden trading practices (Terms & Conditions, clause 5.4).
Overnight and Weekend Holding Allowed (with exceptions) Allowed during the FTMO Challenge and Verification phases. On regular FTMO Accounts, positions must be closed before weekends and market rollovers longer than 2 hours. FTMO Account Swing has no restrictions.
Copy Trading Restricted (Practically) Not explicitly defined, but practically restricted. While there's no limit on accounts in the Challenge and Verification stages, the $400,000 maximum capital allocation per trader on FTMO Accounts, along with the prohibition of identical strategies across accounts exceeding this limit, effectively limits copy trading. Third-party access is also prohibited.

Minimum Trading Days 4 Days (Challenge and Verification) Minimum of 4 trading days (not consecutive) for both the Challenge and Verification phases. No minimum for FTMO Account (Funded), but the Challenge and Verification must be completed first.
Misc. Rules Various Traders can trade any instruments available on the platform (Forex, Indices, Commodities, Stocks, Cryptocurrencies, etc.). Maximum volume per order on Forex is 50 lots. All trading must be legitimate and reflect real market conditions. FTMO reserves the right to determine what constitutes a Forbidden Trading Practice.
